WHAT WE DO

We are the Os Oche association. What we are trying to do, is a big balancing act. We see ourselves as the transfer generation between contemporary witnesses, those involved and those who suffer, and the generation that follows us.

This will hardly be able to get to know contemporary witnesses. We want to enlighten, preserve, try to explain. But above all we want to prevent forgetting.

All of this, however, without a raised index finger.

Therefore, in our bunker in the Aachener Scheibenstrasse, we show the Aachen history of the Second World War with its unbelievable suffering for the civilian population in a way that will grab you too.

At the same time, we use the space between our exhibition areas in a unique way for cultural events. Incredible, but just like it was in the years after the war, when the Aacheners used the bunker as living space.

01. The Bunker

Built by forced laborers, the bunker was a shelter for the civilian population during World War II and living space after the war. A place of unbelievable suffering, but also a last refuge and place of new hope after the war.
